EHV-1 POSITIVE FORCES BALMORAL & MAYWOOD TO DENY SPORTS CREEK SHIPPERS

 

 

The Michigan Department of Agriculture is reporting a confirmed case of Equine Herpesvirus (rhino) in a horse that raced at Sports Creek Raceway last Saturday night (12-19-12). The affected farm has been quarantined and horsemen are being asked to be especially vigilant regarding potential EHV symptoms (respiratory disease & neurological problems) in their horses. If horse owners suspect EHV, they should immediately contact their private practice veterinarian. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
