Horse of the Night

GENTLE JANET (11TH) : Returns to Maywood where she posted a very impressive victory over a little easier group two starts back. She was gallant in defeat last week at Balmoral making a big sweeping move to the top before getting collared in the late going. She usually does her best work coming from off the pace but with a nice draw Iím hoping she can show a bit more gate speed tonight like she did in that win here two back. This field is not that tough and given her current form I like her chances in this spot.

Keep an Eye On These

STRYKER (2ND) : Finally put it all together with back to back victories in his last two outings. Heís drawn inside again and I would expect him to try and make every call a winning one.
CIRCLE OF LOVE (5TH) : Makes her Maywood debut but Iím sure sheís been training on this oval so it should be no trouble for this well-bred filly. She has really been sharp in two of her last three tries and it looks like sheís rounding into a winning effort.
DABESTLEADEREVER (9TH) : Recent form hasnít been much to write home about but heís also been facing much better. He faced this kind 6 starts back and came up with an easy win. I would expect the same from this inside post tonight.

Backstretch Info

SKYWAY BILLY (3RD) : Good looking youngster has been tearing up the Indiana fair circuit this season so you know heís very well versed on a half-mile oval and he does have the speed to overcome the outside post in his Maywood debut. He paced a big mile while just missing two back at Balmoral and thatís the race that really caught my eye. He has been off for almost three weeks but given the fact heís a 2yo and heís had plenty of starts that down time probably did him some good. If he can stay avoid an early duel he should be tough to stop tonight.

Press box picks will be posted at least 24 hours prior to race date.
