Horse of the Night

SHE’Z A SWIFT (2ND) : Driven as though she was the best in that first over journey last time out and she wound up rallying in the final strides to get the victory. This mare is very “photogenic” as last week’s victory was her 18th trip to the charmed circle in the past two years. She’s in a perfect spot tonight as it looks like she’ll either be on the lead or sitting in the two-hole throughout this battle. With the post and the fact that she’s right back in at the same level I see no reason to go against her this evening.

Press Box Parlays

WIN : SHE’Z A SWIFT (2ND) WITH KANSAS WILDCAT (5TH)
PLACE : DIAMOND BRADY (8TH) WITH REAL HERO (9TH)

Tonight's Long Shots

INSIDEDUS SYDNEY (3RD)
ANOTHER TEMPTATION (6TH)

Keep an Eye On These

ANNETTE’S Z TAM (1ST) : Good looking filly makes her sophomore debut in a pretty soft spot. She showed ability while facing better last year and she looked sharp in her qualifier so I’m counting on a big effort right out of the box from this one.
DIAMOND BRADY (8TH) : Beaten favorite has been knocking at the door lately with three straight second place finishes. He’s drawn well again tonight and this could be the perfect spot for him to shake that runner-up role.
REAL HERO (9TH) : Never had a chance from the outside in his last start. This career winner of more than $315,000 gets a big post shift tonight and this looks like a good spot to get recent form turned around.

Backstretch Info

KANSAS WILDCAT (5TH) : Classy veteran finished a solid third in his first start back after the layoff. He flashed his usual high turn of speed that night zipping away from an outside post to grab the early lead through a tough opening quarter. Now he drops to the bottom of the conditioned ladder and most importantly he draws inside tonight. The 11-year-old loves this oval and this 53-time career winner who has banked over $408,000 in his career figures to try and play “catch me if you can” against this group.

Press box picks will be posted at least 24 hours prior to race date.
